An initiative has been set up to ensure his memory lives on. A trust in his name, working in conjunction with Fife Council’s Arts Development service, has gifted and distributed more than 50 of his paintings to public galleries and institutions throughout Scotland. These include the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art and City Art Centre in Edinburgh, Glasgow Museums and Galleries, Glasgow School of Art, Dundee University and the McManus Galleries and Museum, also in Dundee. The Fife-based Neil Dallas Brown Trust has taken the unusual step to ensure that the artist’s work — much of which is held in private and public collections in the United Kingdom, Europe and the USA — reaches as wide an audience in Scotland as possible.
